Matthew 6:33

Seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.

Jesus promises us awesome stuff if we focus on doing and being what God has for us to do and be.  He promises us that He will supply what we need (no, guys, not what we want!) as long as we look beyond our circumstances to focus on what the Spirit leads us to accomplish for the Work's sake. 

Notice that Christ told Peter and others elsewhere in His word what kind of death they would suffer and they still remained committed to the task before them.  Can we do and be any less?

Matthew 10:35-39

For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.  And a man's foes will be those of his own household.  He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.  And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.  And he who does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of Me.  He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

No doubt about it, the decision to follow Jesus is a heavy one!  It means possibly losing relationships and friendships held dear in order to do and be what Christ has for us to do and be.  That's why discipleship is a choice, and that's why Jesus tells us to pick up our own crosses (unfair burdens and perhaps even our own death sentences in the cases of persecuted brothers and sisters worldwide). 

The rewards are absolutely worth it, but once you begin this journey, please realize that Jesus holds you accountable for your choice and commitment.  So, are you really ready to follow this discipleship path and journey?  If so, we're glad to be here for you!  If not, we pray you are turning down this opportunity for the right reasons.
